Apply Advanced ODBC Import Settings

This dialog is shown during data import using the ODBC driver. Use it to define a more specific object name and if pre- or post-import actions are required.

Activity steps

  1. Define Table details.

    1. Choose the long and short name of the data table to be imported.

    2. Review and edit the file Description for the incoming file. By default, this is derived from the data source.

  2. To execute a (transactional) SQL command for the data table to be imported, before the import takes place, use the Before tab.

    1. Enter a transactional SQL command into the main text area.

    2. To run the command immediately, click Execute Now.

    3. By default, import will halt if any SQL errors are encountered. You can check Ignore SQL errors to continue regardless.

  3. Similarly, you can specify a SQL command to execute after import has taken place, using the After tab.

  4. Click OK to return to the ODBC Table Import screen.
